How to View the Changelog in GitHub Copilot CLI【/changelog】
Overview
Just updated Copilot CLI and wondering “so… what actually changed?”
Navigating to the GitHub repo to read release notes is a hassle. The /changelog command shows you everything right inside the CLI.
Usage
Run this in Copilot CLI:
/copilot> /changelogRecent version changes are displayed directly.
Get an AI Summary
If the changelog is long, add summarize to get an AI-generated summary of the key points:
/copilot> /changelog summarize“New commands added.” “Bug fixes.” Just the highlights, nice and quick.
Pairs Well with /update
- Run
/updateto get the latest version - Run
/changelog summarizeto see what changed
A quick two-step routine to stay current.
